“Normal” is a normative term. It is a subjective statement to judge normal by reference to oneself. Most religious experience is pretty normal if you would think about it. Community living, singing or listening to choir music, listening to lectures about humility and the golden rule, charity events - all normal. These religious activities are all easily observable and testable.
If people or scientists refuse to observe religious activities, it is really on them. Not liking religion, does not make a person an expert of religious phenomenon. We have to get in the game.
