Religion today persists because there have not beenenough people or means of faster communication to point out the glaring falsities in it.
I have responded to your post here because I had no other place to place my questions. However you really do have a great deal of muddled thinking and the long process of indoctrination is clear. I admire of course your questions, but you have such a strong barrier of false beliefs to break through and need a lot more basic factual knowledge to give you the confidence to know for sure that no god/spirit/supernatural anything has ever existed.
Good luck with it. It is well worth the effort.

That may be the aim of some religious people and might apply more in today's world when we know how the human species came to be as it is, but its beginnings go back to superstitions, trying to placate the powers of natural dangers. It developed into power, control, through a variety of multiple gods and their imagined lives, to focusing on a single deity for some, while others continued with many. Throughout the history of religious beliefs, there have always been honest and sincere people who tried to help others but at no time has there ever been an observation of an actual deity of any kind.Quote
I like these questions! As far as religion in general, it tries to make peopleI be better than they have been through their lives.

No, there are many things which we can take for granted as being absolutely true, but at no time do scientists claim 100% proof. even gravity might one day not work, so a vanishingly small gap is left open for challenge or change. Unfortunately those with 100% religious beliefs which rely totally on faith try to wedge God into those gaps.Quote
However, there are many things that science considers absolutely factual
