\Humans, with brains which have evolved to imagine an infinite number of ideas, have, as one of their survival traits, been extremely good at imagining and telling stories. There is no need for the stories to have been based on fact and, of course, increasing knowledge of science and the actual way the universe and our planet were formed and what out of has replaced the imaginative ideas with objective facts. This does not lessen the value of the stories but increases the admiration and amazement at the way our brains work, thus, one hopes, increasing the understanding of human thoughts and behaviours!
