Yes, birth charts. Leaving all of that aside, what astrology does provide, or is perhaps derived from, is an objective template that is based on astronomy - the zodiac. From this template we can all agree where 0 Leo might be at any point in time, relative to one's location. Astrology also provides a rather well-settled language of meaning. So, if for example, I were to say that the north node is traditionally concerned with 'destiny', I think we can find common agreement on that much, even though we both don't believe that this interpretation has any scientific basis. Likewise, we both can agree that the ascendant and descendant refer to the horizon points in a birth chart, which is really an astronomical feature, rather than an astrological assertion.
Anyway, I had mentioned these things because they provide a rather objective basis to dive deeper into this discussion. However, in light of your response, (which is fine of course), I feel that I had best leave this one as is, because it would be too deep of a digression.
