We believe in the virgin birth for theological reasons: with any other reasons we'd need a theological rewrite--and even more controversy. As things stand, it makes theological sense.

I'm curious about your intended meaning here, Ray.
(1) Do you mean it makes "theological sense" not to have to debate an issue because it would involve a potential rewrite and more controversy to a religion which has always been plagued by it, or
(2) Do you mean that the notion of a virgin birthing a man created by God makes sense? If so, how?
