The historical review I posted documents the ascent of atheistic thinking that predated the communist takeover. I've gone beyond that review to describe the rise and then the reversal--illustrating the transformation with some recent tourist experiences and some music. If you wish, I could fill it in with much more detail. So far,you haven't commented on this at all.
The post atheistic claim for us Westerners comes from Rupert Sheldrake:
I know--it's far too long to sit through. The sense of it is that there are so many declared atheists in GB, that the novelty has worn off. Going to atheist churches just doesn't work--and actually they're really more agnostic than atheistic, anyway.
