With some annotations:

For myself I experience and formulate this as:
Not one little "i" that changes colour, but many little "i"s who are most of the time not aware of one another.

In general: yes, but it has to be realized by cleaning it from "pollution" (education, indoctrination etc.)
As far as I was able to observe this proces it seems to me that the material of the hundreds of little "i"s does serve as cleansing & building material as well as a wake up call for the real "I".
Though more could be said here, I will leave it like this for the moment.
