Free "will"---a decision mostly based on, both, instinct and calculated risk. I feel sorry for those animals that run across a road and get slaughtered. They made a life-threatening choice, following their instinct to survive by running hard across an unfamiliar road full of moving cars.
Free, yes. They were free to do what is natural to them: RUN. But the hazard was unfamiliar to their "will" to survive.

Also, we humans can reorder and rearrange our thoughtlife, behaviors and even our reactions, due to high level training, like the Martial arts or any sport. Mental reactions can be resolved by mindfulness and calculating practices. All free will.
