Thanks for that Redwood1. Those are questions I agonised over for most of my life.

The only way I can make sense of it is to contemplate our existence as part of the reproductive system of a creator being.

We need a crazy concept to understand our crazy existence. So let us compare mother earth to the female body. What happens when male sperm cells are inseminated into the female body? Then we have a near perfect analogy between the defensive biological process of the female body and the ‘cruel and harsh self-eating meat grinding’ world you describe. There are some 300 to 600 million male gametes deposited in the lower vagina during copulation – so I guess what then happens is some massive form of selective process. We also note; nearly all of the personality traits we observe in humans are mirrored by the behaviour of male sperm cells. With only one in a million male sperm cells surviving the female body defences to arrive at the point of fertilisation. Maybe you could refer to the book by Robin Baker and Mark A. Bellis; Human Sperm Competition - Copulation, masturbation and infidelity.

As mentioned above there are 300 to 600 million gametes in the average male ejaculate. Men manufacture 1,000 gametes per second – about 1,000 with every heart-beat. We can look at this as merely a selective process, but given they all carry similar genetic codes, this explanation does not explain the big numbers. The only explanation for the creation of so many is to assume male gametes are collecting data. They are there to check out how we are going as a species; bit of a problem with the lower back – not sure that walking upright was a good idea; lots of tooth decay – need to come up with a better tooth enamel. And if our male gametes are creating data – then I expect there is some way it will be retrieved and returned to our species germ-line.

So if we are some type of conscious gamete of a creator being it is likely we are trying to understand where they are going as a species. And, the God Gametes concept suggests, we have to potential to return to their species germ-line when departing this world. So maybe we have toggle backwards and forwards from their germ-line to many human bodies in past lives.
