I don't think you have to worry too much about remembering dreams...most of the time they are recaps of info that is hiding in your mind and needing some sorting out. We have so much info going in that new stuff needs categorizing and putting somewhere or just throwing out, so dreams create landscapes that give that info a place to happen and either our mind picks up on what the info is supposed to be for, or uses it up and gets rid of it.
The dreams you do remember are the ones that have a significance to who you are and what you are about. I think most of the great dreams have been had by the time we are in our late thirties and have sorted out who we are. It seems that the later great dreams are those which aid us in changing our mind on something...improving us in some way. I would say many folk still have the flying dreams because that means we are getting into a new area of understanding something we haven't understood before or just plain new stuff we haven't delved into before. Learning a new job can create flying dreams as we get better at the job.
