No, Carol, I'm not an "administrator"--maybe a "consultant"--but I get paid to help design and evaluate experimental studies, which is what experimental science is all about. I have been trained to go beyond the questions, hypotheses, and results, to the actual empirical studies and statistical analyses. The limitations of scientific approaches are obvious and self evident to me.
If you agree with the limitations of experimental science, and the weaknesses of generalizations, we're on the same page. In terms of this thread, you and Starbinder have finally reached very similar conclusions, but your reluctance to accept his characterization of the unexpected observations is obvious.
Keep in mind that the experimental design of this project was worked out before the launch, and only the results of current scientific interest will ever see the light of day--probably years from now. We're only being given phenomenal reports and impressions. It will be quite awhile before the consequences of these apparent discoveries are formally and specifically tested.
If you consider yourself aware of the fallacy of scientism--that's good enough for me.
