"did Clinton actually lead his country and the UK into the recent invasion of Iraq?"
No, he just had them bomb Saddam relentlessly, in hopes that eventually he would topple and we could clean up the mess. Needless to say, this didn't happen.
"This 'WMD' discovery was even downgraded in importance by the US military, as old and dating back to the Iran/Iraq war. Remind me again who supplied Iraq with weapons during that conflict! "
Russia, France, China and also some from Germany, among others. The US did not supply Iraq with weapons. You can read more here, [www.strategypage.com] , but I thought this was understood. Apparently not.
"The UN were looking for WMD's before the invasion took place. "
Yep, sure were.
"The USG would not give the inspectors any more time because the threat of use of these weapons was imminent."
Wrong. Saddam wouldn't give the inspectors access to all of the wanted areas, and was still playing the same games he was for the last ten years. Bsuh (and Blair for that matter) stated numerous times that disarming Saddam was a matter of priority so that he wouldn't become an imminent threat. This is precisely what Bush said during his state of the union speech in 2003-
"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late."
"With all the time in the world now, those who claimed these weapons to be ready for use in 45 min's, can only come up with some circa 1988 weapons. Where are the one's capable of hitting Cyprus?"
My personal feelings are that they are mostly hidden in Syria, but this is purley speculation. I will not however, decide that since we have been looking for a whole nine months through a country the size of California, that the search is over. You can if you want, but that would seem foolish this early.
"Let's hope that the coalition weapon inspectors, who haven't been sent home or redeployed because of lack of evidence (of the imminently deployable WMD's), find something more substantial than this......for the politicians sake."
For the politicians sake? How about for the people who love theres sake? Do you think there is snything healthy about rotting mustard gas cannisters? How about the 500 gallons of anthrax that Blix said was missing? I could care less about Bush and Blair, I'm more concerned with finding these things before they get used. Why don't you reread the list I have posted way too many times detailing what Blix knew was made and missing.
"If you know of any 'Saddam appeasers' on this site, please identify them, soonest and be prepared to back it up. "
If you were against removing Saddam, then you were appeasing him. I have no need to name names.
