Tough question, Pete,
First, it assumes the US is here, today, hence the question would be:
"At what point in our history could the US have lost a war,,, which war,,, and what would the global results be?"

The US could have been;

The US of Britain
The US of Sitting Bull-+
The US of Spain
The US of Mexico
The US Confederacy
The US of Nazi
The US of Japan
The US of Korea
The US of China
The US of USSR
The US of Cuba
The US of Grenada
The US of Panama
The US of Iran
The US of Taliban
The US of OBL
The US of Iraq
The US of [next?]

Not neccessarily in that order, but close. May have missed a few.
Based on the parallel histories, global results would be quite similar.
I excluded the US of France because France has never won much of anything beyond wine, women and food.
