I'm talking out my ass. I probably went too far there. I don't really think the 'far left' are ever usually successful in gaining high influence as an identifiable individual, but as a mob of social pressure they can influence. All those high profile people you mention are publicly visible influencers of one kind or another and I'm a fan of some and not others, but I think they're mostly just the normal 'left'.
I guess the far left is maybe more of an embodiment of the most selfish and self involved version of left leaning people as distinct from right leaning. 'Moments of weakness' might happen in some more than others if they need to be distinguished from each other, or ranked. I don't know. Maybe that's why its hard to defend against the movement. All I know is alot of people are annoyed by what I'm talking about and its an actual thing, but if you can't see it, I'm not the guy to explain it to you. But as a declared centrist, I had hoped I'd have a better chance.
