Probably a little draconian. Compromise, certainly. And yes, probably because I’m a skeptic.
The way I see it, the UFO movement is a constructed thing. I’m going to avoid UFO’s in classical artwork here. In the modern era, UFO sightings essentially go back to the invention of dirigibles. People had never seen them, and didn’t know what they were. Extraterrestrial has always been the go-to. So, when the aerospace industry ramped up due to arms races, security was essential. We had to keep our secrets out of Russian hands. That’s what Area 51 is. Test flights. And when proles see something flying that doesn’t make sense, it’s a UFO.
The intelligence agencies (I believe) bolstered these stories and help grow the UFO “movement” in order to obfuscate.
My issue with Trump’s line item, he’s borderline literate and knows very little about these matters, is that it would appear that whoever drafted it has some interest in exposing state secrets to nefarious actors. That has been an objective of this administration from the start, and fits Occam’s Razor better than an extraterrestrial intervention.
And I think Biden needs to plug that one up.
But I just watched American cops and military service members storm the Capitol with Nazis and psychopaths. So at this point, anything is possible. Even UFOs, I suppose.
I have always enjoyed learning state secrets the old fashioned way. Waiting around for official declassification. Now thanks to Snowden, people think you can just air everything and all will be fine. Unfortunately, most people don’t see the link between what Snowden did and all of the horrors that have transpired in this country since.
In October 2013, Snowden moved to Moscow. In November 2013, Trump held Miss Universe in Moscow. Within six months of the pageant, Russian security services had official operations underway to throw the 2016 election to Donald Trump. And it worked.
The lesson here, some secrets must be kept secret, otherwise our enemies will use them against us.
