Hi Ray
Yes, many in the Senate want an immediate vote to dismiss the House charges which would mean no trial. But some Senators and the Trump camp want a trial. They want to reveal the full SCAM as a means of preventing it in the future, vindicate Trump and preserve executive powers. They have a very good argument. The problem is this will weaken future impeachment and its a very strong tool for Congress. Others believe the Scam and the people involved should be held accountable which means have them testify and present evidence and witnesses to testify against them. This would probably run 4 to 5 weeks. Some even want to wait until the courts decide if the impeachment proceedings are Constitutional or meet other House rules before taking it up in the Senate. This would probably delay the Senate decision for months. But some believe a decision by the Judicial is needed on the inquiry proceedings before it moves to the Senate floor. Its a good point.
What I have gleened so far is a vote to dismiss the charges will probably be taken. If it fails or isn't brought up then we will see a trial which restricts a lot of the witnesses but does allow some which reveals the SCAM. I don't think, right now, either Biden will testify, Rudy or any Ukrainians. I think we will see investigations into the Biden's and others who testified to the House Inquiry since Rudy has sent his intel to different departments and I believe directly to Durham's investigation.
Keep in mind there are things some repo Senators don't want revealed at this time concerning Ukraine.
