I'm presently in India, which has the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world, with Indonesia being the 1st. And trust me, India ain't gonna be a Muslim country ever, in spite of having more Muslim citizens than Pakistan and Saudi Arabia combined.
You know why? Because India has a strange tradition of celebrating ALL religions and festivals... They call it Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays. Hindus participate in Iftaar (breaking of the fast in Ramadan) and Muslims dance to the goddess Durga in October. Muslims and Hindus together worship pics of Jesus in their family shrines, recognizing him as a true mouthpiece of the one they all venerate.
The mindset is different. It's not your religion against mine, but how can we together make it better? Sure, their have been Hindu- Muslim riots goaded by folks who try to divide, yet there have been only a handful of Muslims from India who joined ISIS, inspite of millions of potential candidates. Compare that to the number of folks from countries who joined ISIS with less Muslim folks than India. Muslim conquests and muslims have been a part of India for almost a thousand years...
If a society can be inclusive and celebrate diversity, it will preserve its roots and traditions. Hinduism is strong. So is Christianity, and so is Judaism. They will survive the next 1,000 years if they can be inclusive and celebrate differences instead of condemning them..
