I take offence to the fact that you can state that people with different views to you are either evil, subhuman or willing stooges to whatever it is you are standing for in that thread.
I've never implied any of that. Well, willing stooges perhaps, but both sides have made that claim about the other.
I stand by my comments on Mateen. He was used to by the left to forward their narrative of homophobic gun violence. If you remember early on, that's how it was reported -- toxic masculinity-- that Mateen was a closeted homosexual who lashed out and targeted gays specifically. A poor, hurt, misguided soul who happened on a gun. Except that's not what happened at all. He and his wife (who was finally arrested just last week) planned the attack, scouted the venue, and selected their target based on ease to kill mass numbers of people. It was "leaderless jihad in an online world".
Was I aggressive in my description of the left contributing to these deaths and this problem as a whole ? Perhaps, but I'm right. That frustration with people blind to the obvious is something I believe I've done better with since my return. It's difficult to sit by, predict this happening, see its cause, and have people bounce through their day oblivious to it all...have an attack happen, change their profile picture, throw down a hashtag, reap the social rewards for their "caring", and forget it the next day until it happens again.
This is something we need to understand, and explore critically and objectively. What you find discontent with is my absolutely frustration in not seeing a desire to explore the topic critically and objectively.
Hope that clarifies things a little at least.
