I don't think so Brian. I believe that the early Christians were gentile converts to a 'liberalized' form of 'Judaism' being taught at Qumran and elsewhere by the 'Essenes.'

James the brother of Jesus was the leader of the Ebi or Eboim, gentiles who wanted to remain true to the form of Judaism they were taught by the Essenes. Jesus and Paul of course had indepedent ideas.

Now some of the leaders or rabbis of the essene movement might have become christians such as Paul and Matthew but I feel that was about it.

With the exception of the 'Jews for Jesus' today, I don't think that ethnic Jews ever accepted Christianity.
