I was about the post the numbers I got using this diagram yesterday but didn't get the time. I think the whole coffer - with the lid is important. I was sure that the dimensions would fit my Greek mountain theory and sure enough there is an exact match. I knew the exact value that would be encoded before doing the measurements. Here is the rough data I extracted in inches:
external base length x width x height = 96.063" x 38.189" x 47.638"
maximum external length x width x height = 100.394" x 41.969" x 47.638"
minimum external length x width x height = 95.276" x 36.220" x 47.638"
internal length x width x height = 73.228" x 24.094" x 25.039"
external base volume = 19.96 cubic royal cubits
internal base volume = 5.04 cubic royal cubits
Maybe it was designed to have 20 by 5 external to internal volume or the granite to empty space ratio was 15 to 5 = 3 to 1.
