Of course it was known about, Dune.
There’s an obvious gap between all of the walls and all of the floor edges in the KC, the two horizontal passages and the Antechamber.
In the Antechamber’s east and west grooves these gaps are 3.4” wide, and therefore impossible to miss.
The question now is: were the walls lowered or were the floors raised?
Something else to consider.
Take the KC doorway to be 2rc wide and its height to be 2.286rc.
Take the Descending Passage and the Ascending Passage width to be 2rc and perpendicular height to be 2.286rc.
Take the gradients to be 1 unit rise to 2 units run (as the diagonal of the KC floor).
Vertical height of the DP and AP is then 2.556rc.
2.556rc – 2.286rc = 0.27rc/5.6”
Thickness of KC flooring = 5” +/-0.6”
