I'm sorry that you find some of my comments "condescending." They certainly weren't intended to be.
You wrote this:

I never stated that aesthetic considerations have a direct effect on the relative spatial arrangement of the glyphs, I stated that the amount of physical space often dictated which glyphs would be used to represent the word.
At no time did I suggest that this gives plausibility to "inconsistency within the text" because it doesn't, in my opinion.
