One problem is that we do not really know with certainty the timeline for any dynasty before the First Intermediate Period. As far as we know, the Old Kingdom timeline should be expanded (earlier) by several millennium which would date the launch of the oblong cartouche to a period far earlier than the currently defined "3rd Dynasty". Different discussion.
