Symbolism, my friend.
The snake as represented on Moses' post is no more a snake than the two cobras are supposed to be real snakes on the AE image. How can a snake be on fire? So as for a synopsis of the effects of snake venom. Well ..........
And you wonder why I am of the opinion that you are at a loss to explain any symbolism not authorized by the "educated mainstream." It's not ad hominem. That is how I see it.
And get off your high horse about "mocking, sarcasm, ignorant dismissal etc." Your post was exactly in that vein. If you can't take it, then don't dish it out.
As for "guesswork,' are you really expecting anyone to believe that there is any real evidence of funerary or religious lore pre Dynastic? It's all guesswork and opinion. We don't even know what language they spoke! How far back does the djed go?
Look, I understand the difficulties atheists must have in having to dismiss anything written in the bible as hogwash. But, unfortunately in this case, it's a perfect case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Can every word in the bible be false? Read it for its historical record and leave your religious prejudices to one side.
No, I can't prove anything Moses did or said actually occurred. But you can't prove that it didn't happen. All we can agree on is that someone wrote it down for some reason. Why?
You have absolutely no proof of any Dynasty 1 information about the djed - only what you have gleaned from what I call the Antiquarian Handbook. The scientific findings of Egyptology are relevant, but decoding symbolism is open to interpretation and, to my mind, Egyptology has not adequately answered all the questions.
