What is referred to as scribal errors only means they don't know what was intended. The Egyptologist did the same thing with the mathematical papyri, noting many calculations to be scribal errors. On going subsequent research later determined that what they noted as scribal error was only lack of understanding of ancient Egyptian methods. When you see the term scribal errors, it merely denotes lack of comprehension by the transcribers.
