How is it a "straw man" when numerous fringe authors are
>claming granite can only be scratched with diamond?
>Because I'm not claiming it, nor is anyone in the video which I
>specifcally wanted to debate about.
Sure about that.... because it's in the transcript for the part on Pumapunku (i.e. the rocks at Pumapunku are made of "granite and diorite" (actually that is wrong too but who cares) and "the only stone that is harder than diorite is diamond"). The hardest mineral in diorite is quartz and granite has more quartz in it by IUGS classification so when they are claiming diorite can only be scratched by diamond it's the same claim for granite in any real geologic context. BTW who claims that in the new video.... I seem to remember I heard Mr. Dunn making a claim something like that in the original Ancient Alien video on Pumapunku but about granite.
