Yes but a church is also pretty building in which to congregate in and keep from the rain and sun. They also have great accoustics so the drone of the vic can lull the folk into a nice half awake state, excepting evangelicals of course.
There are simpler symbols to put up and millions of tons of blocks for one symbol with apparently no other reason has to be the funniest imo. Well its funny that people believe this nonsense, serious people too :)
None of these clever theories explain what all the salt deposits on the walls of the QC and half way up the grand gallery were from, maybe its some ubersymbolism I aint aware of yet or more proof that water flowed thru and deposited its contents on the walls as it passed.
