AS: Why not just engineered redundancy to back up the belief in an elaborate god making machine that would last as long a worldly possible..... the ability to fix future problem,1-2 extra burial chambers, 2 granite sarcophagi, extra granite roofs on the big unstable one....... and when it became clear that it was not broken when the everything went bad during the 1st Intermediate.... it was looted?
SC:Except... it could NEVER have functioned as an effective tomb for an AE king. Period.
Burying a king in such a nameless edifice would have rendered it soulless and, as such, would have confined the king to eternal oblivion. These structures WEREN'T TOMBS. They were not about death. They were about 'recovery'; rebirth; re-creation. They were Recovery Vaults for the kingdom (not the king).
