However, the width of the Ascending Passage floor at a point a short distance up from the third or uppermost plug is about 0.2" narrower than the maximum recorded width of the plugs.
This might prove to be enough to have prevented one of more of the plugs from sliding down the Passage and thus support the arguement that these three plugs were built in situ - an argument I am inclined to agree with.
