One thing is for sure; they had to lift stones all the way to the top not just close to it. I'm still betting that whatever means was used to raise the capstone was used to raise the cornerstone as well.
You can't just pencil whip the upper 1% of the stones into position any more than any other stones. Every single stone had to be quarried, raised, and set. Not one stone got accomplished by saying "they must have used ramps" or "the stones at the top were staged". The real world the pyramid is real and it required real work and real ability to really accomplish.
