In the thread about "Hemaka's disk I said that I was not surprised about the accuracy of the concentric circles etc. I commented on the quality of other items produced during the 1st and 2nd Dynasties.
Here are a few examples that, I think, show that quality of craftsmanship.
Most are carved from Schist or slate:
The first two are of the most famous of these items which is the so-called "tri-lobed bowl" which was found in the same tomb as the disks.

This last one is carved from slate to imitate basket weaving.

Unfortunately I don't have a photo of one of my favourite of these items which is a spectacular three dimensional "Ankh".
