I was aware of Popper's theories about the scientific method, but in fact I didn't know Kuhn until Robert Temple mentioned his theories in the recent AoM forum. Now I recommend everyone to read Thomas Khun's book about scientific revolutions.
He introduced the concept "paradigm" and "change of paradigm" in philosophy of science. In a few words, he defends the idea of a revolution in science, not based in accumulation of new information but in shifting all the conceptual frame of science, as a new way to understand the world, new intelectual approaches and new methodologies.
Maybe the alternative vision of Prehistory and ancient History is a new paradigm which is trying to become the "real science" in 21st century after beating the old paradigm. Nevertheless, despite it might be wrong in many aspects, a good debate about theories and methodologies should be always welcome in History & Archeology.
