For those interested in mars-mars mystery (I read GH's book on Mars a few months ago) nasa.gov has finally posted many new Mars images on their website, including a few color, and lots of black&white raw images, as well as some sensor graphs; worth a visit.

A question for those geology buffs out there...I notice in the Mars images a tremendous amount of very jagged, sharply fractured rock; some appear to have rather facetted breaking. Any ideas on the type rock and mechanism of these fractures? I'm interested in hearing views.
