It seems I may have misinterpreted what you said and, if so, I apologise. To quote from your post, "so far all sides of the debate agree that.." and then you followed with the five points in issue. I had interpreted the aforesaid as a statement from you that at least everyone agreed on these five points: albeit that there is disagreement on many other issues.
Of course, on the three points raised in my earlier post, it absolutely amazed me to find someone making a statement that there is consensus on those three issues: i.e. that the Sphinx is a lion, that it was carved and by humans. I am new to this site and have spent the last 6 weeks, reviewing old threads as well as keeping up with new topics; the impression that I have obtained from this review is that there is most definitely no consensus on these three points.
Also, [to pick up on your posting below re the renovation of the head of the Sphinx] as part of that review, I had obtained the impression that there is at least consensus as to the renovation of the head of the Sphinx; i.e. consensus that it has been altered at some stage. From what you are saying, Warwick, it appears my impression may be incorrect. As I am here merely to learn and am new, please correct any of the understandings obtained by me from my review, which you believe to be incorrect. Reference to older postings on this message board would also be useful.
