> The Measured Sphinx
> I came across the following measurements for the Sphinx on
> the Guardian’s Discussion Board:
> Overall length 238 feet
> Width at rear haunches 62 feet 6 inches
> Base to top of head 66 feet 4 inches
> Height, base to back 40 feet 7 inches
> Face width (less headdress) 14 feet 7 inches
> Face height 19 feet 4 inches
> So I need a box in which to carry the Sphinx at 238 feet long
> x 66 feet 4 inches high x 14 feet 7 inches wide.
I'm not an mathematician either but I think if the box was only 14 feet 7 inches wide, the Sphinx's rear would be sitting at the top of the box with its head the only thing fitting in because the box would be too narrow....
I do believe that if you were going to need a box to carry the sphinx, it would have to be 238 feet long, 66 feet 4 inches high and 62 feet 6 inches wide.
Just an observation.
