actually I see the opposite.
It's just that because it is easier to make stuff up, than to actually conduct research or God Forbid, actually attempt to falsify one's hunches to some extent before running them up the flagpole....
Far too many posters believe the conviction of the author rather than the Plausibility of his/her ideas.
Which is why my short cut to debunking usually involves Simple Questions.
Strange that a poster whom many claim, thinks he already knows it all ,should ask questions?!?

I think we're in agreement.
By saying they make stuff up, referees to their inability to prove things, conclusively. I can't do that, and I make stuff up all the time. Where I may have an advantage, is my ability to work in 3D. That puts a different perspective on things, and helps in refining.
It's all a work in process. And it should be obvious to all, I don't consider myself an expert on this topic. If you can't prove it, why be so serious about it?
