to the south is the Unfinished Northern Pyramid of Zawyet El Aryan. which is in the midst of a Military 'area'
A number of year's ago, the Photographer, Jon Bodsworth set out over the desert on horseback. As he got closer he took photos framed by the horse's ears, until he was turned back.
That site is held by many to be the most likely source of information on the Pyramid Age yet to be investigated.
BUT, I understand there IS limited access allowed.

I happened to see it as it was being built. It is lost to me now. It was well covered, and underground. I haven't looked, nor do I want to. That kind of information, you do not want to expose.
