Hi Steve
The main point was using geodesic lines and Google Earth as a reference for HASL if you know where one point actually confirms HASL. Colour coding and such aids in what you identify for the landscape, so any depressions indicating water courses leading somewhere cannot be disputed, as you're offering in your observations.
For some folk, being off by even a few centimeters is the basis for their whole disregard for what you are observing, no matter where water courses and ponds actually are, nor where constructions are that will be downhill from a water source. While some folk may point out that a certain point on the landscape is lower than another point by several feet, so could not possibly contribute to water flow, they may overlook shadufs, or choose to overlook such a thing. Same with a simple water wheel and buckets, or the Archimedes Screw.
It all comes down to the importance of water supply and what it was used for: drinking and food preparations, metal work, mortar if such was used...even floating blocks used in construction if that is what is being offered.
All the best to you
Hi Drew,
Yes, I am in agreement. I am not sure about "it can't be disputed". One day... maybe I will pull all this together and publish. I have been back on GH, as I had a cold, and stayed home from work. I am returning in the morning. No Corona.
A Green Sahara.
Here is a good video. It is 45 minutes long. [www.youtube.com]
5,500 years ago, the change from a Green Sahara, into a desert, took place. Fossil water and the Nile's hydraulic pressures, could have supplied water to the surface 4,000 years ago, and the sands have now covered any evidence. I should have been looking 4,000 years ago. :)
Not to believe the AE possessed knowledge, is ridiculous. So, it is always an argument, as to what and how much knowledge they possessed. A Water Funicular is a (Simple Machine), and should be easy for others to understand.
It is simply using Gravity to work for you.. and not against you.
Why, some individuals insist they were stupid, and could only pull stones using ropes, evades me. In my mind, they have become indoctrinated. Even in this video here, they show images of Men pulling stones, far beyond the average stone size up a ramp. They too, are indoctrinated from previous explanations. They are either too lazy, can't reason, or both.
Look at this picture. Don't they know the land below the Pyramid's slope down to the Nile? This would cause the base of the their "Pyramid Ramp" to increase in volume, depth, and length. OK, so now who are the stupid ones? That alone should dispel this nonsense. But, OH NO, this is how they did it. In essence, they would be building the Pyramid twice over.
When are they going to learn, and change this absurd representation?
