I find it ironic that they could lift massive stones at such a breakneck speed that many think Alien technology was used. Yet, they could not even raise water a few hundred feet.
The shaduf, the bucket elevator belt/wheel, the primitive water pumps. Or, if it makes one feel better.....a thousand mules and asses carrying water jars or skin water bags, on wooden or earthen zigzag/switchback ramps to the top.
These people knew water.
More than a year ago, I gave it my effort, to solve using water from the Nile.
There are two such methods There is a middle section between the two causeways. It is appox. 5-6 feet wide.
You could build a system of small dams, and men/women lifted the water using buckets, from one to the other, eventually reaching the top.
The other was my favorite. I don't believe the AE were ignorant. This method only used men as a counterweight, grabbing
the rope and ride it down into the water. Stepping off, the water raises and spills into the higher platform containing water channels, which flowed into the opposite pool. The pool where the process is repeated, over and over 16 times, reaching the top. Once they rode the bucket down, they had two choices. Climb the stairs, or walk to the opposite end, where he does the same thing, until he reaching the bottom. Here he could take a 5 minute break, and ride one of the Funicular barges, along with his pals, back up to the top, and start all over again.
Now, that looks more like fun, than work.
