This is a point that people keep skipping over; there is physical evidence that this water catchment device was actually used. It left water erosion in a canal leading to cliff face where there is ample additional evidence for the use of a funicular. Why would they channel water to the cliff face and leave evidence they used that water to move stone? How many different ways are there to use water to move stone from distant points?
Using primitive materials there is only one possible way to use water to move large stones from far away, a funicular.
