As I understand it, memory only... these were both quarries. They may have been both for Kufu. The quarry directly below Kufu is only 2 football field lengths, 600 ft. Depending where you stand in that quarry, it's closer downhill to the Nile, than it is uphill to Kufu's Pyramid.
I do not think you understand the gravity of the situation...
Additionally, Kafrey may have quarried the bulk of his stones, from other quarries up on the Nile.
Quarrying stone from the pits, would need to be dressed & finished. So, it's down to Saw Palace anyway. LOL
