Do you mean that you think the quarry was on higher ground to the west of the pyramids? this is a very attractive idea but no quarries have been found on higher ground. I am assuming most of the stone came out of the main quarry just south of G1 and the Sphinx Quarry just to the east of that. These are the quarries identified but never studied by Egyptologists.
