If you used 8 men side by side with 2 ropes, pulling stones uphill, in a spiral configuration, you would be using much more
rope, than in my proposal. Likely 6-8 times as much. To build a Pyramid in 20 years, you would need to be delivering a stone every 3 minutes. That is not my estimate, though it is widely excepted.
As for the wood, there would be less wood used, that what would be needed to build a single sailing vessel. It is not monitory they needed wood tracking to guiding the skids straight up the face. Gravity alone would keep it straight. Greased tracking has less friction. If you didn't use them, you would be replacing the skid more often, due to wear and tear.
