This star is considered to be Venus.
We now that 8 Synodic periods of Venus equal 8 years equal 99 Lunar Synodic periods.
The Moon is thus associated with Venus.
The Moon was associated with the feminine nature, see Mene and Artemis. The same for Venus as Aphrodite. On the other hand the Sun and Mercury were associated with the masculine nature, see Helios, and Apollo(and Hermes).
If the Bible associates Lucifer with evil then this might relate to the association of the divine with light with the Sun and the masculine nature. On the other hand, evil is associated with darkness with the Moon and the feminine nature.
Casting down to the ground thus seems to relate to Venus rising after the Sun and thus showing up after the Sun has set. If we have a crescent Moon, then since if I'm not mistaken the Moon is to the left, follows the Sun, this means that we can have the Moon in the sky at night with Venus observable also. This might correspond to the Crescent Moon with star depiction.
Since the internal planets, Mercury and Venus can either be far apart from the Sun, in front or behind it, or be close to it so it could not easily be visible, this means we can make a table for what the configuration is at a particular event, as for example at someone's birth.
inverse feminine-inverse masculine
inverse feminine-neutral masculine
neutral feminine-inverse masculine
neutral feminine-neutral masculine
Thus for Pope Francis we have:
Crescent Moon + star(Venus)
Crescent Moon + bright star(Venus) + dim star(Mercury)
