There's still a problem with the idea that something with the attributes of a hook morphing into something with the aspects of a ritualistic knife. Outside of corroborating evidence this seems very highly improbable.
With so many artefacts deemed to be holy, sacred, and ritualistic one wonders what tools they used to lead their daily lives.
As a hook the artefact must have been attached to a wooden handle to be configured as it is.
I see no reason to believe the object wasn't made for practical, mundane, everyday uses and that it was lost while performing this function. This implies it was inadvertently dropped from above during construction which in turn implies it was being used to snag something in the airshaft which might also have been something practical. It's even possible that the stone (which happens to be of a standard weight) might also have been associated with the "hook". It should be remembered that the pyramid was built in steps and that these shafts were open on top of the pyramid during that stage of construction.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
