Nicely done. I look forward to more.
My current working theory is that the gods coded those ancient stories into the night skies in an enormous number of ways. I think that writing was a very recent development for the gods because their near photographic memories and immortal lives made writing rather redundant when a god could simply remember.
That would not prevent them from writing those stories into the skies for their own entertainment. I can picture the gods sitting under the night sky, starting on one side of the sky and writing their story across a swath, pulling in stars and making up constellations as they go. I can see the same constellations being used in different stories depending on the way the constellation was entered and exited in the storytelling. I can also see the same star being used in multiple constellations, depending on the story being told.
I don't know if my theory is true, but if it is it opens up near endless possibilities of linking ancient stories and the heavens.
