LOL, yep, they had a plot. It gets obscured by widescreen sand, explosions, and special effects most of the time, but there's one there.

They had a little less plot that the first draft of my theory I posted, but tried to make that last 3 hours. IMO, the problem was the WEREN'T making anything up as they went along. If they had inserted SOMETHING else to add to the plot, it would have been better.

If you REALLY want to feel embarrassed for, watch Jeremy Irons in Dungeons & Dragons. He is an incredible actor trapped in one of the worst movies ever to be released. The outtakes are priceless.

In all seriousness, what's your point about Thoth? Right now I'm trying to reinterpret the Emerald Tablets with homo deus in mind. I can only take so much at a time before my mind goes numb and I have to stop for a while.
