In all honesty, I have no idea everything I've read. I'm the sort of voracious reader that puts cereal boxes in front of me because they have printed words I can read on them.

As far as speculating about the origins, the first stuff I remember reading in that area would be the Erich van Daniken books in the mid 1970s, which were a regular feature on my reading list alongside so many others of all varieties like the Hal Lindsey books.

I never put much stock in them other than entertaining reads. My path also separated from the Catholicism I was raised with in the mid 1980s in more of a freelance monotheist route.

I thoroughly enjoy the Ancient Aliens show, from the wonderful locations they show that would be fun to visit to Robert Clotworthy the narrator who have the ancient alien theorists saying "Yes" more than a two-bit whore on a street corner. But I've never thought that came to Earth, we mistook them for gods, and they ruled and engineered homo sapiens, giving us laws, culture, etc. Sure, the current ideas don't explain everything, but that's just how life works.

I've always gone with the Jung/Joseph Campbell approach to religion with the various gods being drawn from the archetypes. That was my "best fit" explanation for the last 30 years since I abandoned the Catholic explanation.

Until now. Now I actually believe that actual immortal physical gods ruled mankind as a subservient species in the past. I 100% own I am struggling wrapping my head around the idea and working through all the implications.

I'm not demanding anyone agree with me, just sharing my ideas and seeing what others think.
