G'day Peter
Sorry mate, I seemed to have missed your post (s?) But apparently you did a bloody grouse job of entertaining those who speak/write in various forms of Americana!
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that at least one of my two posts was mistakenly attributed to you. It's OK you can take the credit. Good on yerr!
Cheers

If the assumption above is true, then I forgive you , no offence taken.
Thank you for highlighting and proving at least one of the points I made. Had you read that my first post ( the serious response to what I had carefully considered was the essence of Thanos5150 /Lee's thread)
you would clearly have noted I signed it with my real firstname.
However, being a repetitive active campaigner for your own unique brand of Christianity here, it was obviously that second unsigned post that stirred your reaction, and your assumptions.
I think Lee would have been capable of making the thread title something like " How and why did you come to GHMB" if that was the essence of his intent?
Nevertheless , just for you, I honestly cannot remember how or why I found my way to GHMB. I lurked as a reader (non member) for many years before finally joining. I clearly had ROCKS in my head (intentional pun)
Fascinated with the working of hard stone in mysterious places around the world in particular Peru/ Bolivia and without any formal education in ancient history, archaeology and such, but with a curiosity which had been unable to be addressed during an active life where other recreational pursuits diminished available time to research such curiosity.
I held unformed somewhat "fringe" hunches but not the knowledge or facts to be clear about them.
In Thanos OP he refers to "alternative ideas". I ask the rhetorical question alternative to what?
If any alternative idea has any merit then intrinsically it is the promoters primary duty to be thoroughly familiar with the established consensus ("mainstream") and the reasons for such , in order to have any real basis for promoting an "alternative". Long before having any solid or reasonable basis for promoting such as a truth or fact. However we all know most such "ideas" are merely speculation, conjecture and fantasy, devoid of evidence or detailed proven fact.
This is why I am so grateful for the appearance of those with more solid mainstream KNOWLEDGE who kindly go out of their way through an avalanche of crazy musings to provide at least a short statement and more often link to substantial reading matter or material in which those who have a genuine unbiased interest can build greater knowledge and clarity about the subject matter.
Sometimes here I will post to promote /encourage such knowledgeable persons and I am sincerely grateful to amongst others all the persons specifically listed by Thanos5150, they make a wonderful contribution and I claim have taught me a great deal.
Kind regards
Steve
PS. Surely you are not crazy enough that if you thought/imagined a voice in your head demanded you prove your loyalty the the universe, that you would consider murdering (cutting the throat) of your child?
