Hello Lee
My interest in Egyptology is that of a pastime only. My undergraduate degree is English Language & Literature, my post graduate degree is in high school education and I have never undertaken any courses in Egyptology.
The little that I know is mainly concerned with the language of middle Egyptian hieroglyphic inscription, my knowledge of the language being entirely self-taught.
I offered no comment on the thread you began in respect of the mystery surrounding the 1st dynasty mastabas miles from royal cemeteries because I know nothing at all about them and even less about the period in which they are assumed to have been built. In defence of my silence, a wise man once espoused: "It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it.”
Nevertheless I enjoy reading your posts - please do not think that you are shouting into a void.
